As one of the most common choices when it comes to paint colours in a modern home, it's important to take your time when selecting a white paint.
While there may never be one perfect white to please everyone, there are some things to keep in mind when making a selection to ensure you've picked the right white for your space.

Consider the lighting.
There are so many uncertainties when it comes to paint. One thing you'll always be able to count on is it looking different in every home and every room.
Consider the natural light in your room before selecting white paint.
As a general rule; North facing windows will produce a warmer, softer light. If you have a North facing window a warm white has the ability to appear a bit yellow. If this is a fear for you - go for a brighter white.
South facing windows will provide a brilliant, bright light. With this in mind, you should opt for a warm white in rooms like this to avoid having your space looking stark, cold and washed out.
West facing windows receive warm light in the evenings so in this case, similar to the North facing windows, you want to stick to a brighter white. East facing windows allow for quite bright light and cool tones in the evenings which means you'll want a warmer white.
To simplify things..
North + West: BRIGHTER WHITES
South + East: WARMER WHITES

Think about your furniture.
The home decor, furniture, artwork and mirrors you place throughout your room will also affect how paint colours appear. Just keep in mind all of these pieces will contribute to how light is reflected and absorbed throughout the space.

Accent lighting goes a long way.
Whether you're putting your pot lights on a dimmer or adding wall sconces, floor lamps and table lamps to create ambiance - keep in mind you can always make adjustments after you paint with lightbulbs.
With all of that being said; here are my top 3 universally loved white paints!
